   Hi Dr Alyssa, Thank you for reviewing my work. I took note of the concerns you raised with my prep on #9.

   1. you noted that my shoulder was too thin, and the labial taper from an interproximal view is too much.

   regarding the shoulder width, i used an 847KR016 bur and i made sure to get the entire width of the bur in, i thought the bur tip was 1.2mm. are you saying i should get the entire width of the bur in and then add some more? sometimes when i went in too deep on the shoulder, with the bur, i’m talking of more than 2x the diameter of the bur, my prep ends up looking so ugly, like its shifted backwards on the tooth.

   About the 1 plain reduction. if i am going to do a 1 plain reduction, this will mean having a very bold shoulder. especially if i will want to avoid having the labial aspect of the crown too tapered from an interproximal view. but won’t this make the tooth appear like its sticking out?

   You were correct about the cingulum reduction being too shallow. I compared it with no 9 palatal view. there wasn’t really much difference. i thought that the reduction here will be minimal. My question is this: if it is reduced by 0.7mm as you said (about the diameter of a 330 bur, and maintaining it all across the lingual aspect including the cingulum, won’t i run the risk of really reducing the cingulum region and also reduce the height of the lingual wall which should be 1.5mm (not including the 0.5mm supragingival margin?)

   Regarding the transition from shoulder to chamfer being at sort of the line angles of the tooth, this will mean having a long transition. I’m thinking ofachieving it like this:

   1. use my 847KR-016 to create my shoulder, up to the line angle region, as much as i can without touching the adjacent tooth.
   2. On the chamfer side, using my 856-016 to create the chamfer as you said
   3. after breaking contact with my needle bur, then i use a chamfer maybe 856-014, then 856-016 to work on the interproximal area\
   4. On the shoulder side, I will advance the 847KR-016 a little more, just shy of where it will touch the adjacent tooth, i will do the same with the 856-016 on the chamfer side.

   Do you think this will create the transition as you described starting from the labial to palatal line angles?

   I will try getting a stronger finger rest and doing the chamfer as you said.
