Operator Positioning (Ergonomics)

Practicing for a long period of time will strain your body especially if you have poor posture while working. Remember that our hands and body are an investment! Straining them through improper ergonomics will result to working inefficiently. So, make it a habit to observe good posture.

Patient Positioning (Proper Mounting of Typodont)

The bench test set up is purely a simulation of the actual patient-operator position. Since we set up the typodont by ourselves, we are tempted to position and mount the typodont according to our comfort. We may not realize that sometimes the whole set-up is so unnatural if compared to the real clinic set-up. Just like our preps should be ideal, mounting should also be as ideal as possible as if we are working on a real live patient.
